General instructions

  • Do not go to public places if you are ill. If you have mild symptoms typical of coronavirus, take a test. (cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever, changes in smell and taste, diarrhea). Use a mask on your way to the testing location and stay at home until you get the test result. If the test result is positive, you will get instructions concerning treatment and moving around.
  • Keep a safe distance of at least two metres to other people and pay attention to hand and cough hygiene.
  • Download Koronavilkku app to your mobile phone. If you receive an alert of potential exposure from Koronavilkku, act according to the instructions given via the app.
  • The use of masks is recommended in Lapland Hospital District in all public indoor facilities, like public transport, shops, restaurants, public events/gatherings etc.  In addition, the use of masks is always recommended for persons belonging to risk groups and their visitors.

Regional State Administrative Agency for Lapland has decided to ban public events with more than 20 participants between 22 February and 21 March.  In smaller events and sports gatherings, restaurants e.g. it is recommended that the organiser of the event collects contact information of the participants. The information will be retained for 14 days and disposed of as confidential waste.

If you visit, during your holiday, an intensive service housing unit or other place where you might meet people in risk groups, we hope that you will contact the director of the unit in order to secure a safe visit.

Ivalo Health Centre  provides on-call services in Inari Municipality around the clock, 24/7. Ivalo Health Centre maintains a low threshold for coronavirus rapid tests. The test result will be ready in approximately one hour. In general, testing is free of charge for travellers. If needed, an antigen test may be complemented by a PCR test, for example if a Covid variant is suspected. If you get an alert from Koronavilkku app, make an appointment for a test, even if you don’t have symptoms indicating  a coronavirus infection.

In general, try to keep the number of contacts as low as possible during your journey. It is a good idea to write down in the evening who you have been in contact with during the day. This makes tracing work considerably easier. Remember that you should not go to skiing slopes, the spa, restaurants etc. if you have even mild flu symptoms.
