Ǩieʹssleirr - Skolt Saami Summer Camp 2025

The project's first camp took place on July 28 to August 5, 2025 in Pasvik, Norway. The camp brought together Skolt Saami people from Norway and Finland, from babies to grandparents, and we spent a communal and eventful camp week. The camp program included learning about the history, culture and traditions of the Skolt Saami, learning about traditional crafts and making them in workshops, trips to significant historical sites and museums in the area, and spending time together and interacting at the dinner table, in the sauna, and around the campfire.
