Project time 1.1.2024-31.12.2026
The GENGREEN project, focuses on green female entrepreneurship, was launched in January 2024. The aim of the project is to support a total of 50 female entrepreneurs in South and Central Ostrobothnia, Lapland, Norrbotten, Troms, and Finnmark.
The GENGREEN project is implemented with the support of the Interreg Aurora programme, which provides funding opportunities for cross-border cooperation in northern Europe across Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
The GENGREEN project invites all female entrepreneurs in the region to build sustainable businesses. At the heart of the project is the creation of networks and synergies, and the sharing of knowledge among participating companies. This goal is achieved through various methods, such as joint training modules, workshops, field visits, and webinars. Participating companies will gain opportunities for collaboration, learning, and business development.
The target group includes women at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey: recent graduates interested in entrepreneurship and sustainability, entrepreneurs seeking to make their operations more environmentally sustainable, and those whose businesses are already sustainable but who want support for further development and networking.
The project involves 9 implementation partners: 6 from Finland (the Ruralia Institute of the University of Helsinki, Into Seinäjoki, Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Centria University of Applied Sciences, the Municipality of Inari, and the development association Liiveri), 2 from Norway (the innovation cluster ICE Kirkenes and the Arctic Economic Council), and 1 from Sweden (Luleå University of Technology).
