Bukva

Oummu rââst raaj – People cross the borders has produced new, much-needed Skolt Saami children's literature in the form of a Skolt Saami alphabet book! The book is called Bukva and it will be published on Sámi National Day, February 6th 2026.

The book release is held at the Äʹvv Skolt Saami Museum in Neiden, on the Norwegian side of Sápmi, on Friday February 6th, 2026, at 12pm Norwegian time. The publication event is part of the museum's National Day program. The books will be distributed free of charge to participants at the event, so come and get yours and celebrate the National Day! Afterwards, the book will be available elsewhere for free distribution as well. We will announce more details about it later.
