Lapland is a land of opportunity and Inari municipality offers a wide variety of services for entrepreneurs planning to set up their business in Inari. If you´re planning to set up a company in Inari, it is a good idea to start by contacting municipal business advisory services, which can provide help and support for planning and starting a company. When you become an entrepreneur, you can receive a start-up grant from the TE Office in order to secure your income during the start-up phase (for a maximum of 18 months).

Setting up a business

You can start a company in Finland regardless of your citizenship. What is important is that you have right of residence in Finland, the necessary professional skills and sufficient Finnish language skills, if required in your field.

Services for entrepreneurs

Municipal Business and Development services can help you setting up a business, finding the right premises and connecting with the right partners. You can receive advise on developing your business, increasing competence, financial support and international collaboration. The advice offered is completely free of charge.

Te services also offers training and financial support for new entrepreneurs. It is possible to receive a start-up grant to secure your income during the time that getting the business up and running is estimated to take.

You may be eligible for a startup grant if
 
  • you are an unemployed jobseeker
  • you are not unemployed, but you are setting up as a full-time entrepreneur after a period in paid employment, education or domestic work
  • you are part-time entrepreneur and you are planning to become full-time entrepreneur.

Entrepreuners' organizations

Entrepreneur's organizations offer opportunities for networking and peer support with other entrepreneurs, and represent the interests of entrepreneurs. The municipality is home to both Inari Entrepreneurs (Inarin Yrittäjät), a local association of the Federation of Finnish Enterprises, and also Ivalo Women Entrepreneurs (Ivalon naisyrittäjät).
