In Finland Alcohol is highly taxed, and distribution of alcoholic beverages above 5.5% alcohol content is restricted to the national alcoholic beverage retailing monopoly ALKO. Alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content above 2.8% and up to 5.5% ABV can be sold in supermarkets between 9 am and 9 pm.

There are two ALKO stores in Inari municipality. One in Saariselkä and one in Ivalo. If you enjoy the occasional tipple, you should bring your alcoholic beverages on entering Finland, as they are likely to be cheaper in your home country. For restrictions on bringing alcohol, please check here.
