Events

The Calotte Academy started in 1991 in Inari, Finland. Since that it has organized annually in the North Calotte, i.e. the European North – whether in Inari and in another place in the region, or in Rovaniemi, Tornio and Haparanda – mostly on a periphery (except the years of 2000 and 2001). It is an international forum and travelling seminar for a dialogue and debate between researchers, other academics and students on one hand, and for an open discussion between academics and decision-makers (both civil servants and politicians), civil organisation activists and business people on the other hand.
